Can They Steal Your Passwords?
By Eduardas Kubilinskas on Jul 21, 2010 in PC software
These days security is important. Online community has been on web2.0 for a while now, which basically means the way we all interact online. It’s no longer a cafeteria type you-choose-from-what-they’ve-got deal. Its more like you come to a place where everyone is welcome and you contribute and become a part of it and change, offer, suggest anything you like.
that in turn opened up the pathways to security breaches and hacker activities. People connect to their accounts from anywhere and everywhere. because thats what web2.0 is all about. You no longer store your stuff on computer. it is all being stored online. But to get there you need password.
so you do have a password. And with several different social media accounts you might need several passwords.
Of course it could be same one, but what if it gets stolen. What if you lose and someone can get access to all your accounts? What if?
Best advice in this field would be to have several different passwords. One stronger, one weaker, one medium. so that way, in case one gets lost, your other accounts are safe and untouched.
then you can write them down in some safe spot in the notebook or your journal, etc. to keep them safe. I wouldnt recommend storing them online, unless they are coded, where only you can understand and decode them upon seeing it. Or you can use hints, which are your unique ways of knowing specific words.
I wouldn’t use usual descriptions like if your password is pelican. I wouldnt put a hing a bird with a bag under his beak. it would be too obvious.
Also do not use obvious related numbers, like your date of birth, your street address, your name, your last name, your pets names this information is too available for everyone.
Great pc software to assist with this is: RoboForm
you can check it by clicking on image here:
Roboform is a pc software that will remember different passwords for you, without you stressing about losing them if you write down on piece of paper. Roboform takes care of that nicely. so give it a try it has a free trial for 30 days. see how it works out for you. Better safe than sorry!
